Pottstown Children’s Holiday Project

Pottstown, PA has a 22 percent poverty rate ~ the need is great! What began as a charitable act during the holidays over 30 years ago by Jim Frymoyer, has grown into the Pottstown Area Children’s Foundation, a non-profit organization which serves to better the lives of children and their families throughout the Pottstown area by providing food and donations during the holiday season. At its inception, the Christmas Party supplied toys to 75 kids along with a fun afternoon celebrating the holidays with Santa Clause. Over 36 years later the event has more than quadrupled, and in 2019 Frymoyer and his volunteer elves will host a party for more than 450 children and their parents, as well as deliver 250 food boxes to families in need. The party will have lots of kids visiting Santa, doing Christmas-themed crafts, interacting with Superheroes, winning a drawing for 18 bicycles and scooters, with hundreds of stuffed animals to choose and grab! And the food boxes will hold turkeys, hams, and all of the fixings for a holiday meal along with staples milk, eggs, butter, bread, pancake mix, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, cookies and hot chocolate.
